Azi-Once 250mg

Azithromycin belongs to the class of drugs known as macrolide antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. Azithromycin prevents bacteria from growing by interfering with their protein synthesis.

It is used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria and other microorganisms, which include:

1. Chest, throat or nasal infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat (pharyngitis) and sinusitis)
2. Ear infections
3. Skin and soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil)
4. Sexually transmitted diseases caused by organisms called Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoea
